Miss Mahoney and Mrs. Honoroski’s Grade One students have been learning about the power of the word “YET!” We listened to a story, called “Giraffes Can’t Dance” by Giles Andreae. It is about Gerald the Giraffe who couldn’t dance until he heard the right music. He learned not to say that he couldn’t do something, but that he simply couldn’t do it…YET! The students got to make their own giraffes to remind them of the story, and also did an activity on Seesaw about five activities that they are trying to learn, but haven’t mastered…YET! We are learning lots in Grade One, and each day is an exciting new adventure!
